Residents in the Ballysillan area of North Belfast are delighted that long term problems with old-style guttering at their homes have now been solved, thanks to us.
Phase 1 of a scheme to remove Finlock Guttering from homes is well underway and 49 properties have already benefitted from the installation of modern guttering and facia, reducing damp and future proofing homes in the area.
Paul Isherwood, our Director of Asset Management, said:
“At a cost of almost £2000 per property, this is a hugely significant investment by the Housing Executive, aimed at improving our tenants living conditions and ensuring our properties are fit for purpose in the 21st Century.”
North Belfast Area Manager Malachy McKinney said:
“Another 64 properties will receive replacement guttering as part of this scheme’s first phase, bringing the total number of properties in the area receiving an upgrade to 113. Further phases of work will follow.”
Local residents have expressed their delight in having the old-style guttering removed, including Elizabeth Andrews, pictured here on the left with Sean Kilpatrick from Piperhill Construction and Laura Stewart from the Housing Executive.
