Ards Westwinds
We recently finished our investment in the outside maintenance of 172 homes in the Westwinds area of Newtownards.
We operate a large scale maintenance programme across all of our properties in Northern Ireland which is an important aspect of our organisation’s work. The work in the Westwinds was part of an overall investment of nearly £5m improving people’s homes in the Ards & North Down area 2015-16.
Work to the outside of the properties, which was carried out in partnership with our contractor PK Murphy, included repairing fascia boards, cleaning and repairing guttering and painting.
Our Area Manager Owen Brady said,
“Investing in homes and neighbourhoods to foster vibrant communities are key objectives of the Housing Executive. We have a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and feedback on this £247k investment in the outside of our homes has been good with residents saying it has had a positive impact on the whole area.”
Our tenant Jimmy Menagh said:
“Those living in the area take a lot of pride in their homes and it’s been good to see this makeover take place. It was a very successful scheme and the workmanship has been to a very good standard.  I’d like to thank the local Housing Executive team for their continued support of our area.”
